Who's behind deepona

I'm Mario Haarmann, a Certified n8n Expert Partner and Certified Software Architect. Automating manual processes has been my thing since day one. It's what got me into software development in the first place, and it's what I still do today – only now with n8n, which makes it dramatically faster.

I don't run an agency. Instead, I work personally with every client. That means fewer clients, more depth, and better results. I only take on work where I can genuinely make a difference, and I say no to projects that don't align with my values.

My approach combines technical precision with a genuine interest in how people learn and grow. I don't just teach you the "how" – I make sure you understand the "why." Because that's what makes the difference between automation that breaks and automation that lasts.

No. I teach you how to build them yourself. My role is to guide, mentor, and advise – not to create a dependency. The goal is that you and your team become self-reliant.

If you have a basic technical understanding and are willing to learn, yes. My mentoring adapts to your level. However, if you're looking for someone to just "handle it" without your involvement, we're probably not the right fit.

It's a blend of "deep" and "sona" – the word for knowledge in Toki Pona, a minimalist language created by Canadian linguist Sonja Lang. The name reflects what I value most: understanding that goes beyond the surface – in simple language. Not just knowing how something works, but why.

Mentoring is an ongoing relationship where I guide you through learning and building. It's for people who want to develop deep competence. Consulting is for experienced n8n users who need expert advice on specific challenges – architecture, scaling, best practices. No teaching, just direct advisory.

It's a 45 minute video call where we explore your use case, understand your current setup, and figure out if working together makes sense. No sales pitch, no pressure. If it's not a fit, I'll tell you honestly.

Both. 1:1 mentoring works great for founders or individual team members. Workshops are designed specifically for teams of 2-4 people who want to explore n8n together.

It's a collaborative approach where we work on the same screen together. One person is the "driver" – hands on the keyboard, building the workflow. The other is the "navigator" – guiding, asking questions, and catching mistakes. In my workshops, everyone takes turns in the driver seat so you get real hands-on experience, not just watching someone else click around.

Primarily small to medium businesses – many from tech, SaaS, digital services, or consulting. But the real common thread isn't the industry – it's the mindset. If you're a tech-savvy professional – whether you're a founder, team lead, ops manager, or simply the person everyone turns to when something needs to be set up – who wants to understand and own your automation rather than outsource it, we should talk. I don't take on projects that go against humanity (e.g., military applications), cross ethical boundaries (e.g., lead generation / spam), or involve low-quality mass-produced content (aka AI slop). I'm selective about who I work with because quality matters more than volume.
